Advance Resilience in Development Code and Development Review (3.H.2.)

To ensure public health and safety, the City will continue to improve the development process to discourage growth near potential hazards (e.g., floodplains, the wildland urban interface), encourage resilient design, and encourage Low Impact Development (LID).
- The City is updating the Unified Development Code (UDC) to facilitate infill and redevelopment, housing affordability, climate action plan objectives, sustainable building practices, and a further refinement of transparent, predictable, and understandable development review process. Completion is expected in 2025
- Adoption of Floodplain Regulations, Ordinance 2057, updated Bozeman's municipal regulation of floodplain management for development, subdivision, zoning, and environmental health and resiliency.
- Completion of the Unified Development Code (UDC) is expected in 2025.
- Code revisions to implement the new PRAT plan will enhance connectivity and active transportation as part of resilient design. This project will begin in 2025.
