The City of Bozeman will continue to simplify, improve, and incentivize the process for installing solar.
The State of Montana adopted the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code and Bozeman adopted the new code in August of 2022. Local jurisdictions may have an opportunity to advance residential and commercial solar-ready provisions in new construction and major renovations. The City of Bozeman is reviewing the provisions and attending code training to prepare a recommendation for the City Commission to consider adoption.
- City staff from multiple departments will develop a solar (PV) plan submittal checklist and review opportunities to streamline permitting. Staff will develop PV-ready guides for new development.
