Include an Electrification Component for Above-Code Construction (1.C.2.)

The City will assess the feasibility of electrification for different types of buildings in Bozeman, encourage all-electric new construction, and advocate for all-electric new construction requirements in the stretch code and future building codes. 

  • The City Commission adopted Ordinance 2104 to replace the Planned Unit Development (PUD) process with a new Planned Development Zone (PDZ) process. Sustainable and Resilient Design is one of four public benefits identified in the ordinance that can be used to participate in the PDZ process. The administrative manual was completed and adopted in 2023.
  • The Sustainability Division has partnered with the Bridger View housing development, NorthWestern Energy, and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) to research and monitor the performance of the Net Zero Energy construction methods used in this 62-unit mixed community housing development.
