Bozeman’s gas and electric utility, NorthWestern Energy, will play a significant role in reaching Bozeman’s goals of a 26% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 from 2008 levels and 100% net clean electricity by 2030. The City of Bozeman will partner with NorthWestern Energy and other stakeholders to encourage advancing the adoption of renewable energy and storage capacity.
Actions
Collaborate with NorthWestern Energy and stakeholders to introduce and support voluntary clean energy purchase programs for residents and businesses.
Increase community adoption of local renewable energy on public and private properties. Distributed renewable energy technologies include on-site solar, community solar, methane capture, and small wind and hydro generation.
